Saundersfoot is a much-loved holiday destination which, along with Tenby, is one of the most popular in Pembrokeshire. It is situated in Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and on the Pembrokeshire coastal path, with its stunning coastal vistas.
Those looking for bed and breakfast accommodation will find a few well-rated establishments in the town. However, there’s a far wider range of hotels, guest houses and holiday cottages to choose from.
Saundersfoot is within a short drive of Tenby as well as the A477 which provides a good link to other towns in Pembrokeshire such as Pembroke Dock and Neyland.
This three-star bed and breakfast is located near the small village of New Hedges, about a mile from Saundersfoot. It has double and family en-suite rooms with Freeview colour televisions and wireless internet – each one is individually decorated. Outside, there are spacious parking facilities and the establishment is well-placed, with the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and Oakwood Theme Park just a short drive away. There’s also a good selection of restaurants and country pubs within close proximity. Rose Cottage B&B has received positive reviews from previous guests with many remarking on the friendly, ‘nothing’s too much trouble’ customer service they received during their stay.
Saundersfoot Guest Houses
This three-star, family-run guest house is situated in Saundersfoot and features double, en-suite rooms with Wi-Fi, Freeview television and coffee/tea-making facilities. It’s in a good location with local visitor attractions such as Oakwood Park, Colby Woodland Gardens and Carew Castle within close proximity. Off-road parking is provided (although not for all rooms) and breakfasts are included as part of the booking price. Cots and highchairs also provided on request. Previous guests have praised the breakfast options offered, the helpful customer service as well as the property’s quiet location.
Saundersfoot Holiday Cottages
Anchor Cottage is an annexe-style holiday property, located close to Saundersfoot’s beach. It has two bedrooms, a double and family room with three single beds. The kitchen is well-equipped and there’s both a sitting room and dining area. Mod-cons include a TV with Freeview and DVD player, a small library of DVDs and books as well as Wi-Fi. The exterior includes a raised garden with patio furniture and off-road parking that can accommodate two vehicles. Travel-cots and highchairs are also provided by request. Anchor cottage has drawn praise from previous guests for its central location as well as its proximity to other popular resorts such as Tenby.
The Savoy Country Inn is situated in St Clears, some 14 miles from Saundersfoot. Although it’s not actually located in Saundersfoot, it does lie near the A477 which provides quick, easy access to the town as well as other resorts such as Amroth and Tenby. There are seven en-suite rooms, all with digital TV and Wi-Fi is available throughout the establishment. The Savoy is newly refurbished but retains many character features such as low ceilings and traditional pub seating. Activity packs are offered to children to keep them occupied and pub meals are prepared using locally sourced ingredients. Reviews have however been rather mixed. While there are many compliments about the food and comfortable rooms some previous guests have left complaints regarding the poor customer service.
